Hoang is the Vice President for Asia Region Business Management at Novellus Systems, Inc. In this role, Hoang will be responsible for developing and overseeing the company’s business across all of Asia, including China, Japan, Korea, Taiwan, and Southeast Asia.

Hoang joined Novellus in 2004 as senior director for Asia-Pacific strategic business development. He was employed by Applied Materials from 2000 to 2004, and was most recently responsible for that company’s business management activities in Asia for a number of products, including the copper integrated process module, physical vapor deposition system, and interconnect modules. Prior to joining Applied, Hoang held various sales and technical management positions at SGS-Thomson Microelectronics from 2000 to 2004, as well as comparable positions at Texas Instruments from 1985 to 1990.

Hoang holds 2 patents and authored over 20 publications. He has also organized and chaired various international conferences in semiconductor technology and industry. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Chemistry and a master’s degree in Materials Engineering from Wayne State University in Michigan, and has completed his Ph.D coursework in Materials Engineering at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor.
