Quynh graduated from the University of Calgary in 1990-majored in Zoology. He worked as a research assistant at the University of Calgary for one year studying ion channels before coming to Houston, Texas. He graduated from Texas Chiropractic College in 1993 with a degree in chiropractic. In 2000, he graduated from the University of Houston-Clear Lake with a Master of Science in Biology and taught Biology, Anatomy & Physiology at Houston Community College. In 2007, Quynh earned a Master in Public Health-Informatics at the University of Illinois at Chicago. Currently, he resides in Houston with with his dog (Zoe).
