We are in the hotel lobby in Saigon waiting on the cabbie who has driven us around for most of today. It's Chu Tuan, Hoa, and myself...the sky is gray, the rain just passed and everyone is a little bit sad. We will fly out tonight and arrive in the states 10 pm Sunday...

We are back in the big city...Even though I spoke of my love for the buzz of the city, I have to say Ca Mau/Bac Lieu, with more remote country, has been the highlight of my trip.

It's been a few days since the last we've checked in...a lot has happened. We are now in Can Tho, leaving tomorrow morning. We finished work at Lang Chim, the last few days of work we contended with a rain storm, and being true troopers we (or at least four people from the group) put on rain jackets and jumped in the rain. The kids went crazy, they loved it, and obviously wanted to jump in and join. When the rain let up they did...a game of splash ensued, Dr. Quynh got the brunt of the kid's attacks but he held his own pretty well.

Just got back from a ride on the pedi-cab, we went around the city swerving between the motorbikes and cars...I rode with Hoa on a little rickety wooden one...my bum suffered, I almost fell off when we went up a steep incline on a bridge, I loved it, now I am in need of another shower (super run on sentence)...

Today we head out for the Lang Chim Primary School, it will be our first day of labor. The last few days have been spent getting acclimated with the time change, the country, and each other! Everyone is great and we have a good team with many different talents and interests.

The Mekong River Tour was amazing, there was a lot of lovely landscape and awesome fruit to be had...Like going to Hong Kong I now can see and understand truly where I come from. Exotic tropical fruits on a hot day...my idea of heaven...
