and then there were three

We are in the hotel lobby in Saigon waiting on the cabbie who has driven us around for most of today. It's Chu Tuan, Hoa, and myself...the sky is gray, the rain just passed and everyone is a little bit sad. We will fly out tonight and arrive in the states 10 pm Sunday...

We said goodbye to everyone and it was very difficult...at our farewell night / cultural night Chu told me that I would go up and accept a gift from the Y folks and that I could say something short and sincere. So I thought about what could I say that was short sincere and clear in my choppy Vietnamese. And so I went up there and said in the best Vietnamese I could "I came to Vietnam and didn't know anyone but my family, I will leave back for the US with more friends now because of my experience here."

Cabbie is here must run now! More later...we will miss you all!
