On July 25, 2009, about 200 people young and old, tall and short, male and female, gather at the Palace Lanes to participate in the Sunflower Mission second annual bowl-a-thon fundraiser. Amid the music and the laughter, with many “gutter” balls and the occasional “strike”, everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves. Who can forget the scenes of all little girls and boys who could barely carry the heavy balls...

On Sunday, May 3rd, 2009, Sunflower Mission’s Junior Members (L.E.G.) hosted a lemonade sale. The event corresponded with the Prepared 4 Life’s Lemonade Day Event, which annually promotes business experience and entrepreneurship for kids all over America. The University of Houston Vietnamese Student Association (UH VSA) will be hosting a charity fashion show and cultural performance night to benefit Sunflower Mission, a local nonprofit that assists needy children of Vietnam by building schools and giving scholarships. The event is set for 6:30-10:00 p.m. April 3rd, 2009 at Kim Son (10603 Bellaire Blvd location).

Tickets are $20/individual ($25 at the door) or for a table of 10 $175.
