On June 27, 2008, the Board of Directors of Sunflower Mission and some of its Advisors had an appreciation dinner for the University of Houston Vietnamese Student Association (UH-VSA).

In the past five years, Sunflower Mission has been recognized as the Charity of the UH-VSA. UH-VSA has been committed and dedicated to improving the lives of the children of Vietnam through education. Through the years, UH-VSA has put together many events including poker tournaments, bake sales, and fashion shows to support the Sunflower Mission cause. UH-VSA has raised over $17,000 for Sunflower Mission!
