Helping Hands Dinner and Entertainment

The Abandoned Little Angels, Vietnamese Culture & Science Association, and Sunflower Mission invite you to enjoy dinner and entertainment to support the Katrina and Rita victims at our "Helping Hands" event. All proceeds from the event will be donated to the American Red Cross in Houston.

Many of us have had time to recuperate, get back into our routine and forget about hurricanes. But, thousands of displaced Vietnamese and American families from the devastated Louisiana and Mississippi coastal areas continue to sort out and restart their lives after losing everything.

One Vietnamese shrimper from New Orleans came to Houston and said he could not find his shrimp boat. Shrimping was the only livelihood he and his wife had. Their boat was uninsured. A shopkeeper in New Orleans lost her entire shop to flooding and looting. Worse, others lost family members. But the effort to help the living with volunteers, facilities and supplies continues everyday. The Red Cross is still spending money, energy and time in this effort.

So please join us, help the Red Cross and have fun at the same time!

We'll enjoy a two-course meal, classical and contemporary music, a slide presentation, a special drum performance, as well as a special dance performance featuring one of Sunflower Mission's Board members!

There are no tickets to be purchased. This dinner is open to everyone, but reservations are requested to ensure seating and food. Suggested individual donation: $15. Reserved table of 10: $300. We would like to reserve blocks of Sunflower Mission seats / tables together, so please let us know if you'd like to sit with the Sunflower Mission clan by reserving your seats with Lan Chi.

We are also being asked to volunteer on the Reception Team to usher guests in as well as help in sorting / counting donations.
