WE ARE LOOKING FOR A FEW GOOD BOWLERS! Teams of 5 are encouraged to sign up before the deadline of Sept. 17, 2008. So grab your friends, family, neighbors and co-workers!

We will have lots of rock 'n' roll music, good food, good company, and of course, lots of bowling, to support the cause of a better education for the children of Vietnam. This is a great opportunity for team building, camaraderie, community outreach as well as good family fun. Also, if your company matches funds, please let us know!

NOT A BOWLER? Not a problem!

We also need lots of supporters to come out and cheer for the various teams and further support SM by eating! We will have lots of fresh hot dogs and juicy hamburgers for sale, so if you don't want to bowl, come to eat and you will still support Sunflower Mission.

TIME: 2.30 pm >> Team Registration and Check-in
3-6 pm >> All you can bowl for 3 hours

  2. Karaoke Star >> $200 for 5 bowlers
    • unlimited games for 3 hours

    • all ages
    • 5 meal vouchers

  3. Silver >> $300 for 5 bowlers

    • and a silver level donor plaque

In the midst of a beautiful Saturday afternoon, over 100 bowlers gathered at Sunflower Mission's Rock-n-Bowl-a-Thon in Bellaire, TX to improve the lives of underpriviledged children in Vietnam.

The bowlers consisted of Sunflower Mission sponsors, donors, members, friends, and family. The event brought families, groups of friends (with the youngest group being around 5 years old and the oldest group.. uh maybe in their 50s?), coworkers, business associates, classmates, organizations, and fun was had by all. Anyone that strolled down the 23 lanes played by Sunflower Mission's bowlers would have heard laughter, seen indescribable moves and dances (maybe rituals?), and be energized from the atmosphere.

Some of our favorite (and notable) take-aways...

  • The youth in the US (students of all levels - from elementary to graduate) coming together to improve the lives of their peers in Vietnam.
  • The event raised over $18,000 for classrooms and scholarships.
  • The event began and ended on time!
  • The event was organized and coordinated by 3 brand new members to Sunflower Mission, Quyen Ma, Hoa Ta, and Duc Nguyen. Quyen, Hoa, and Duc joined Sunflower Mission in our annual trip to Vietnam in May and have since shared their leadership, passion, and talents in making the world (especially SM) a better place.

On behalf of the Board of Directors, we'd like to extend our kudos and gratitude to Quyen, Hoa, and Duc ~ for carrying out such a successful AND ***fun*** event.

...and last but not least, the event could not have been successful without sponsors and bowlers. We hope you had a great time and that you will join us again. THANK YOU for your support and for coming out to share the day with us!
