Thank you for answering our call and volunteering your services (artistic and otherwise) this year. The event was such a success and much of that is due to the work you put into helping at the crafts table or with face painting. It was no small feat! With the throngs of people pushing to get past each other, it was the small child, sitting in the chair, patiently waiting to see your handi-work that was most important to each volunteer. When that moment came and they looked in the mirror, their eyes widened, the slightly weary face lit up into a smile, and an excited nod signaled your success!

You all are quite AMAZING! A person's face is the most challenging canvas! From Santa spiders to the Christmas cactus/dinosaur, you all did your best to fulfill the request of each child, no matter how difficult (Spiderman! His whole body!). Thank you for coming in early on the first day of your holiday break to work tirelessly with us. I hope it was as much a labor of love for you all as it was for me.

I think I speak for the entire Sunflower Mission board of directors, our members, and supporters, and especially our coordinator Alvin when I say that your participation and enthusiasm at these events breaths life and joy into the mission of our organization. Not only do we seek to help those in Vietnam, but we hope through the experiences you have with Sunflower Mission you take with you the greater sense of responsibility to put back into your community what you have gotten out.
