On a sunny day on March 21, 2010, Sunflower Mission family held a retreat to reflect on its journey since its founding day in 2002 and to charter the course for the next 10 years. Having built 94 classrooms,, giving out over 6300 scholarships from elementary to college, and exceeded its goals of raising $1 million while keeping administrative cost under 3% , the board reflected on successes and lessons learned from its core programs of school construction and scholarship. The board maintained the course for the next 10 years guided by education as its mission and school construction and scholarship as its core programs, with a greater emphasis on scholarship program and a new fund raising goal of $10 millions for the first two decades of its operation.

Other activities at the retreat included a presentation by the directors of SEEDS 1, recognition of UHVSA 2, games and well wishes to board member Quyen Ma and fiancé on their upcoming wedding.
