What: Scholarship Program where individual donors sponsor needy high school graduates or college/university students for a one-year commitment to fund their education expense. 100% of the contributed funds go to the students directly.

How much: $220 per year

What to Expect:

• Notify Scholarship Team of your interest to sponsor (contacts are below).
• Mail donation to Sunflower Mission. Receipt will be issued for tax purposes.
• If there are multiple candidates awaiting sponsorship, a list of available students will be sent to donor for selection. Communication will be via email so please provide your email address.
• Profile of student for sponsorship includes: letter of application, statement of need including family condition, and academic performance.
• Funds are disbursed to student in Vietnam. In most circumstances, the student is awarded $110 in the first disbursement, and the remaining $110 is awarded in the second half of the school year.
• Student shall write to the donor (via Sunflower Mission volunteers, who will then forward to the donor) at least 3 times per year. Communication will be via email so please provide your email address.
  • 1^st: Thank you written upon receipt of donation
  • 2^nd: At mid-year, upon receiving the second installment of donation (the remaining $110)
  • 3^rd: At year-end to report progress and grades and in most cases, request sponsorship for the next school year
