We began the year once again with a joint project with YMCA International.
We are pleased to continue this collaboration for the 5th year in a row. Sunflower Mission funded the construction of a 2 classroom school in No.9 hamlet, Thanh My commune, Vinh Thanh district, Can Tho province and YMCA funded the construction of a 4 classroom elementary school in the Giong Rieng district in Kien Giang province.

Our overall goal for the school building program this year is 15 classrooms. This goal was established based on our ability to successfully deliver the projects in the rapid cost escalation environment and the planned 2008 fundraising effort. Our target areas for 2008 are Ca Mau, Bac Lieu, Can Tho, and a province in the Central Highland such as Phu Yen.

The following school projects have been completed:

• Kenh 9 School, Thanh My commune, Vinh Thanh, Can Tho – 2 classrooms
• Thanh Quoi 1 School, Vinh Thanh, Can Tho – 4 classrooms
• Gia Rich School, An Trach commune, Dong Hai, Bac Lieu – 2 classrooms
• Cua Ga School, Long Dien Tay commune, Dong Hai district - 4 classrooms
