My Phu - April 2006
Located near the border with Cambodia, My Phu village has had its share of hardships and neglect. My Phu has a population over 21,000 people living on farming and related work. Currently the village has only 2 primary schools resulted in grade school children having to walk several kilometers daily to attend school. The local community requested a 4 class rooms school be built in My An hamlet to meet the educational needs of 400 primary students for the 2006-2007 school year.
The Sunflower Mission’s Board of Directors authorized funding for the school in December 2005 and construction was completed in early April 2006. Sunflower Mission provided funding for the 4 classrooms and furniture. The local community contributed leveled land, toilets, fencing, gate, and gravel access road to the school.
