This school is also located in the Mo Cay district of Ben Tre province. Ben Tre province is about 85 km south of Ho Chi Minh City. This area is one of the main focus areas for Sunflower Mission to concentrate its support.
Khanh Thanh Tan - 03/2005
For the third year in a row, Sunflower Mission collaborated with YMCA International to impact education in the Mo Cay District. Sunflower Mission funded the construction of 2 classrooms, and YMCA International funded the construction of 4 classrooms, resulting in 6 new classrooms for the children at Khanh Thanh Tan commune.
YMCA & Sunflower Joint Work Camp
Nathalie Nguyen, a Sunflower Mission member, was present in Vietnam in March, 2004 to participate in the completion of the classrooms at Thanh Thoi A Elementary School. She also visited classrooms funded by Sunflower Mission in 2003 at Thanh Thoi B.
Thanh Thoi A - March 2004
Located 15 km to the south of the center of the Mo Cay district, Thanh Thoi A commune is the most remote commune of the district. The numerous natural canals split the commune into 06 hamlets which makes transportation a challenge. Over 10,000 people reside on the commune and most of them subsist on fruit, coconuts, sugar cane and other produce.
A Visit to the Ben Tre Work Camp
My 2003 visit to the Sunflower Mission work camp at Ben Tre was my first visit to Vietnam. The trip was short, but in that period I fell in love with the beautiful country and became convinced of the importance of Sunflower Mission.
Thanh Thoi B - March, 2003
In collaboration with YMCA International Services, Sunflower Mission has funded and completed the construction of 2 classrooms at Thanh Thoi B Primary school. This school is in the district of Mo Cay, Ben Tre Province.
