In August of 2004, the Board of Director approved the construction a four classrooms school in An Hao commune, Tinh Bien district, An Giang province. Sunflower Mission provided fund for 3 classrooms and the local community contributed fund for the fourth.

Consistent with our mission in bringing schools to the neediest of children in rural Viet Nam, Sunflower Mission has funded and completed the construction of an elementary school in Binh Phu commune (Chau Phu district, An Giang province).

Sunflower Mission has completed the construction of 2 new classrooms in the Phu My village. These 2 class rooms are built on high ground and projected to last over 30 yrs.

As long as I've lived, being Vietnamese was just another little fact about me. I never cared. That was before my parents actually made me go to Vietnam. As my father dragged his reluctant son to the airport, he told me I was going to be shocked at how people lived.

Nathalie Nguyen, a Sunflower Mission member, was present in Vietnam in March, 2004 to participate in the completion of the classrooms at Thanh Thoi A Elementary School. She also visited classrooms funded by Sunflower Mission in 2003 at Thanh Thoi B.
