SM funded for the construction of the 3 classrooms while the local community paid for land, fencing and toilets. The local community is seeing a very rapid growth in population, and at the same time, a serious lack of school facilities...

This school is also located in the Mo Cay district of Ben Tre province. Ben Tre province is about 85 km south of Ho Chi Minh City. This area is one of the main focus areas for Sunflower Mission to concentrate its support.

For the third year in a row, Sunflower Mission collaborated with YMCA International to impact education in the Mo Cay District. Sunflower Mission funded the construction of 2 classrooms, and YMCA International funded the construction of 4 classrooms, resulting in 6 new classrooms for the children at Khanh Thanh Tan commune.

am Vietnamese--but I wasn't always proud of it. When I was younger, I used to mock the students who just came from Vietnam and laugh at their elementary grasp of English. The new students would ask me for help and I would systematically ignore them. "Anh! Anh! (Brother! Brother!),"they would shout, relieved to see a familiar face in a foreign land. All they desperately wanted was for someone to point them in the right direction. I, their Vietnamese brother, betrayed their trust.
