Dream Box Charity, a non-profit, non political organization based in Calgary, Aberta Canada, held its 1st annual charity gala "A Night of Dream" on November 17, 2007 to raise fund for Sunflower Mission and a second organization. Special guest speaker of the event was Ms Duy-Loan Le, Advisor and Co-founder of Sunflower Mission. The program included buffet dinner, musical performances by local artists, 'Ao Dao' fashion show by Designer Nin Nguyen, and live auction of donated items.

The fashion show at the University Center Houston Room was attended by an audience of around 400 students, parents, dancers, fashion designers and models. The main benefactor was the Sunflower Mission, whose goal is to elevate the educational level of people in Vietnam by building schools and aiding in educational assistance programs. In 2006 the organization raised $109,000 that went toward the building of classrooms in Vietnam and $37,000 toward scholarships.

For the fifth year, Sunflower Mission provided flu shots to the community on October 7th at St. Justin Martyr Church. Dr. Nam Hoang is planning to schedule more flu shot fundraising dates, depending on the availability of the vaccine this year.
