The Colors of Love
by Tuyết Hoa
Today marked the third day of our journey to spread kindness and connection. In the morning, we added color to the sketches we had outlined on the school walls the day before. It was my first time painting a wall, and doing it by hand made the experience feel even more special. What made it truly meaningful, is we were creating something beautiful for the children here. Our room was filled with laughter, music and in that joyful noise, I found a deep sense of belonging and purpose.
In the afternoon, the energy shifted into something even more vibrant. We joined the students for music, games, and a special moment: gifting bicycles to some of the kids. It was heartwarming to see their faces light up. I didn’t feel like an outsider at all, I was part of the moment.
Even after a long day, I didn’t feel tired. Maybe it was the way we supported one another. Whatever it was, I felt alive not just in the moments of fun, but in the moments of effort too. I truly believe that when we come together with love, even the smallest actions can make a big difference.
As the day came to a close, we shared a meal, had fun, and celebrated a birthday in our group. There was so much warmth in the air. And in that happy moment, I wish the time would slow down, just a little, so we could stay here together a little longer.
